We at the Homestead Bed & Breakfast in Saline, Michigan invite you to be our guest. Established in 1984 we are one of the first bed and breakfasts in Washtenaw county. Located in a historic 1851 brick farmhouse set in the peaceful pastures of rural Saline, we offer 5 guest rooms and common rooms such as a library, living room, and parlor.
We are only the third family to live here in its 150+ years. We were lucky enough to buy our home completely furnished more than 45 years ago. We have been welcoming guests into our home since1984. Our home, a relaxed mix of Victorian, country and comfort, which has happily remained virtually unchanged over 100 years, is conveniently close to both Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, and is only 40 minutes from Detroit and Toledo.
The Saline area has wonderful antiques and specialty shops, excellent dining, golf, The Ann Arbor Antiques Market, and several local festivals and events.
We have woods, valleys, fields, and the Saline River on our 35 acre farm. Walking the woods and property is encouraged. Years ago, Indians camped here while salting their fish. (Saline is named for local salt wells.) The wild flowers are spectacular in the spring and early summer, and deer are often seen in the fields and yard.
Fifteen inches of solid brick construction keep the rooms cool in the summer, augmented by central air conditioning, and a Franklin stove in the living room adds coziness in the winter. The living room, library, and parlor are open to guests at all times. Wireless internet is available. We serve a full breakfast on weekends and a continental breakfast during the week.
The Homestead is a friendly, personal place for meetings, getaway weekends, or for business travelers. Information about weekly and whole house rates will be furnished on request.
Come prepared to relax, feel at home, and be welcomed as the friend that you will become! Ike and Martha Furbush, Innkeepers
